Her Story
About Anusha
I've been working as an Inventory Controller Analyst at a jewelry company for two and a half years now, and this is actually my first job of my life. Before entering the workforce, I was a housewife staying at home with my kids. As soon as my kids grew - my son became older and my daughter is now in school - I realized I had some time to focus on my career, so I decided to work. In my role, I take the merchandise in the system, make invoices and memos, process customer returns back into the system, and work on repairs when customers want merchandise repaired and shipped back to them. What I'm most proud of is the way I am working and my dedication towards my work. Throughout the day, I have a goal that I have to complete, and I always make it happen. My manager, my head of department, and my bosses are happy with my work, which makes me happy too.

Ten minutes with Anusha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the way I am working and my dedication towards my work. Throughout the day, I have a goal that I have to complete, and I always make it happen. My manager, my head of department, and my bosses are happy with my work, so that makes me happy. I've also been greatly influenced and inspired by my head of department and my coworkers who work in my department - they are great models. The way they work, I always get influence from them. I learned from them, and they teach me how to work in this jewelry company. That's how I'm inspired.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would definitely appreciate and encourage her. In my company, there are majority women who work, and in jewelry building, women are the ones who do it better. I would definitely prefer if a woman came to me asking for a suggestion to work in a jewelry building - I would definitely put a green signal and give a thumbs up to go ahead, because women are more fluent in presenting their jewelry. We read it, we feel it, so I think a woman is the best human being who can guide in this field, as for me. The way I am being inspired by the other women working in our company is how I would want to inspire others.
