Her Story
About Anwen
I've been in real estate for the past 25 years, and my journey has taken me through various aspects of the industry. I started in property management, then moved to residential sales, before returning to property management where I found my true calling. I began my career in Boston, working at a few boutique firms there. In 2023, I was managing Boston Development Group's Boston portfolio and offices. From there, I moved to Seattle to join Biomed Realty, where I managed a portfolio of 5 life science buildings. Most recently, I was recruited by Kidder Matthews to run their Seattle portfolio as a Senior VP and Market Leader, which is where I am right now. My most notable professional achievement was taking on a million square foot portfolio under receivership that the previous owners had managed everything in-house. I developed a plan to manage the properties, hired a team and vendors, and here we are 6 months later. In my current role, I work with clients to ensure their properties are reaching their financial expectations, and I manage a group who takes care of the day-to-day tenant requests, repairs, and the like.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's all about relationships, ensuring that your clients are taken care of, and that their tenants are given best in class services. I didn't have any mentors myself, but I am very active in mentoring younger people in the industry now because I felt that, as I didn't have any mentors, I think it's important to give back and be the person that you needed when you were that age.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I would say commercial real estate is having challenges with vacancy after COVID. A large number of properties have become vacant, so that's probably the biggest challenge right now. People have either found a way to work around having to pay for a business establishment, or employees themselves don't want to come into the office.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I treat every person with respect, whether you're a janitor or a CEO, you get the same from me, because everybody is important in my world.
