About Aphrodite

I've been in the healthcare industry for over 25 years, with more than 20 years specifically in social services and case management. I founded Quality Life Management 3 years ago after working in corporate healthcare, where I felt so restricted in really trying to help the community. The turning point came when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I had a family, kids in school, I was married, and I faced the reality that I might have to quit my job. Even though I was servicing people in need, I didn't realize how deep the barriers were that they faced until I was making all those decisions myself. Had I not known about the programs that I did, I could have really ended up in one of my clients' situations. That experience birthed Quality Life Management, where I can show up and meet those barriers in different ways that I just could not do in the corporate world. I also realized that even though I have siblings, everybody has their own lives, and while we want everybody to take care of loved ones and show up, they just might not have the capacity. I had to learn to delegate roles - like my sister was great at going to the store, but she did not have the capacity to put up with my mom 24 hours, so I delegated that role to her. Now, through Quality Life Management, we serve the whole state of Georgia, running Medicaid waiver programs that provide personal support aids in the home, emergency response systems, and other resources to help families take care of their loved ones. I oversee these resources to make sure they're maintained in the home so families can have a better quality of life. I also created Executive Care Luncheons that I hold once a month all over Georgia, bringing providers, community leaders, social workers, medical directors, hospice companies, and home health companies all in one room to talk about how we can better service the community and create partnerships to stack and layer resources for people to stay in their homes. These lunches are very small, but they're very impactful.
