Her Interview

Ten minutes with April

01What do you attribute your success to?

Definitely being a mother. I have two twin girls, and they really have helped shape my thoughts on life. When they were born, my career kind of kicked in high gear... One of them has a heart defect... her twin sister, she's verbally autistic... I always dedicate my success to them.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Breathe and take in all the knowledge that is given to you, because if you use all of the tools and the resources that companies give to you to help you grow, you will always be successful... definitely just taking all the tools and resources that the company they're working for provides to them, and really digging deep on if that is the career path that they want.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges are dealing with constant change... getting the younger generation to learn how to pivot... The opportunities will definitely become companies more investing in their own people... it's about investing in their people.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Definitely family, and definitely integrity.
