About April
April Tuttle is a procurement and supply chain professional with extensive experience in aerospace manufacturing, supplier quality, materials support, and project management. She currently serves as Procurement Manager at Gulfstream Aerospace, a position she has held since July 2024, where she leads a team of 7 to 8 buyers through procurement and contract negotiation for aircraft products. April began her career at the company in 2011 and has progressed through several leadership and procurement roles over more than 15 years, including two years in supplier quality managing a team of quality engineers focused on propulsion items and earlier positions in procurement from 2014 to 2022. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Business Management from Western Governor's University, a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certificate, and completed a General Dynamics Supply Chain Leadership course at Michigan State University.

01What do you attribute your success to?
A large part of it was having my daughter at home, and she had no one else to rely on but me, so I had to kind of make a way. There are many times in my life whenever I look back and in the moment I felt like it was a setback or why is this happening to me, but in reality it was God bringing me through every bit of it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
There's goofballs in this world and then they grow up and they make more goofball children. You're gonna have those type of people in this world and you just have to love them for who they are and move on and not spend more than 5 minutes of your day focusing on something bad that happened or someone that was a goofball.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just be a sponge. Learn as much as you can and don't be afraid to ask what you might think is a dumb question.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Supply chain in general, tariffs, price increases, parts availability. Typical supply chain issues. The tariffs those are new of course.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Very strong faith. It's new as of this year. I've always been a Christian but as of this year I've really deep dived in to grow in a relationship with Jesus and being more involved in that church. Especially as followers of Christ like we're called to go out in the world and be kind and love everyone regardless of the differences. Just being grateful for everything even on the bad days.
