What do you attribute your success to?
I credit much of my success to the mentors who guided me—especially Joe Weibert, Rand Moritsky, and Philip—whose insights often came in spontaneous, unstructured moments rather than formal meetings. Today, I mentor emerging professionals, sharing what I’ve learned along the way.
My advice to aspiring women in this field: be patient, stay dedicated, and cultivate resilience—success takes time, but mentorship and persistence make all the difference.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities I see in my field is the ability to use my platform to represent positive values and inspire others, especially the next generation—my daughter, in particular. Being recognized as an influential woman allows me to highlight the importance of faith, integrity, and perseverance. I give credit to God for my accomplishments, including being an ordained deaconess and author, and I hope to encourage others to pursue their goals with purpose and dedication.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are integrity, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning. My career journey began in nursing school, but challenges with clinicals led me to the insurance industry—a path where I could leverage my skills and passion for helping others. I’ve earned certifications in risk management and customer service, and I’ve learned that hands-on experience often teaches more than traditional education alone.
I also place great value on professional community and engagement. Being involved in organizations like RIMS, NAAIA, and CHIEF allows me to grow, contribute, and connect with peers, and I aspire to belong fully to all three whenever possible.
