About Aretha
Aretha Antoine is a technology and cybersecurity executive with 25 years of experience in the financial services industry in New York. She earned a background in computer science and finance in college. Her career began at Lehman Brothers before she spent 14 and a half years at Goldman Sachs, where she bridged technology and business areas amid the dot-com era and growing cybersecurity concerns, leading her into technology risk and nearly a decade in cybersecurity. She worked at Citi in the Cybersecurity Fusion Center to enhance risk protocols and action plans. At JPMorgan Chase she handled large-scale risk profiling and security for internal environments, then moved to the end user department to build enterprise cloud-based platforms and took on identity and access management responsibilities with a focus on Agile delivery, metrics, and product success. She is now in an operations role in Digital Transformation and Business Architecture at Morgan Stanley, where she develops strategies for cloud-based platforms and AI elements while maintaining regulatory compliance and measuring outcomes.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It is a tough field to be in because generally you are one of the only women in the room. You really have to have good conviction and work to gain the respect of your team members. Don't be afraid to get technical. It is a lot of reading and knowledge with no playbook. I prioritize having more depth and breadth across technologies.
