About Arezou

I am a research strategist and academic leader currently serving as Senior Research Strategist & Laboratory Director at the University of Florida, a role I've held since June 2024. I work within the Radiology AI Lab, where I lead a team supporting faculty in developing competitive proposals, assisting with complex multi-disciplinary grant applications, directing manuscript writing, promoting team science, providing training and workshops, aligning research strategies with institutional priorities and funding trends, and building relationships with external partners engaged in translational science. I hold the same title at the University of Florida College of Medicine, where I serve as Senior Research Strategist and Laboratory Associate Director.

Before joining the University of Florida, I spent nearly five years as TESOL Adjunct Faculty at Nova Southeastern University's Abraham S. Fischler College of Education, teaching remotely. My courses included Teaching English to Children, Methodology of TESOL, and Teaching English to Adolescents and Adults.

Alongside my teaching, I served as a Review Editor for the Modern Journal of Studies in English Language Teaching and Literature (MJSELT) and as an Editorial Board Member for the Applied Linguistics Research Journal, roles I held for approximately five years. These positions allowed me to contribute to the broader academic community by shaping the quality and direction of published research in applied linguistics and English language teaching.

Across my career—whether directing a radiology AI research lab, teaching TESOL methodology, or serving on editorial boards—my work has been rooted in the same principles: rigorous scholarship, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to advancing knowledge. I help researchers and educators do their best work, and I take deep satisfaction in seeing projects, publications, and people succeed.
