01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my parents, who have always been my blueprint for what hard work, resilience, and determination look like. Growing up, they taught me that education is one of the most valuable things a woman can have. In our Family, education was never viewed as optional; it was simply the norm. They believed that knowledge creates opportunities, independence, and the ability to build a better future.
Both my parents worked incrediby hard and led by example. Their sacrifices and commitment to providing a better life for our family shaped the person I am today. My mom, in particular, inspired me through her courage and perseverance.
When I immigrated to the United States, I faced many challenges. I had to leave behind everything familiar, learn English, adapt to a new culture, and find my own path. Throughout that journey, I stayed committed to my education and professional growth because of the values my parents instilled in me.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been earning my bachelor's degree while raising three children and working full-time, and now continuing my education through a master's program. My parents taught me that obstacles are not a reason to quit; they are growth opportunities.
I also became a mother at a young age, and by my late twenties, I found myself wanting to return to school. At the time, I questioned whether I had missed my opportunity. Thankfully, my husband and my best friend never let me believe that. They encouraged me to leap, supported me through every setback, celebrated my every milestone, and reminded me that personal growth does not have an expiration date. They taught me that it's never too late to invest in yourself, pursue your goals, or create a new chapter for your future.
Today, I carry the lessons of both my parent’s husband and best friend with me. Their belief in me helped me believe in myself, and that has made all the difference.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Success doesn't happen without failure. Every setback, mistake, and challenge teaches you something valuable if you are willing to learn from it.
There were times when things did not go as planned, but I've learned that failure isn't a reason to quit; it's a reason to keep going. Success comes from showing up, staying focused on your goals, and refusing to give up when things get difficult.
The people who succeed aren't always the most talented; they are often the ones who keep moving forward when others stop.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never stop believing in yourself. There will be moments when you question weather youa re qualified, experienced enough, or capable of reaching your goals. Don't let self-doubt make decisions for you.
Be willing to learn, work hard, and take opportunities even when they feel crazy or intimidating. Growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone.
Most importantly, don't compare your journey to someone else's. Everyone's path is different. Stay focused on your goals, keep showing up, and trust the process. Success rarely happens overnight, but consistency and determination will take you further than you think.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge right now is the ongoing shortage of qualified education professionals. Schools across the country are struggling to fill critical positions in special education. As a recruiter, I see firsthand how these shortages impact both students and school districts.
At the same time, this challenge creates a significant opportunity. There is growing demand for professionals who are passionate about supporting students and making a meaningful difference in their communities. My role allows me to connect talented individuals with opportunities where they can have a real impact.
One of the most rewarding parts of my job is meeting professionals from diverse backgrounds and learning about their experiences. As a mother of a child with Autism, I have a deep appreciation for the work there specialist do every day. Seeing the difference they make in the lives of students and families is both inspiring and motivating.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are integrity, kindness, perseverance, and gratitude. I believe in treating people with respect, being honest in both personal and professional life is always doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.
Perseverance has also been a defining value for me. As an immigrant, a mother, and a working professional, I have faced challenges that tested me in many ways. Those experiences taught me the importance of staying resilient and continuing to move forward, even when the path isn't easy.
Above all, I try to approach life with gratitude. Never take opportunities for granted, and I appreciate the people, experiences, and lessons that helped shape who I am today.
