Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to dedication, continuous learning, and a genuine passion for animal care. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of performing a wide variety of surgeries and treating a diverse range of animals—from family pets to parrots and tortoises. One of my proudest accomplishments was acquiring my own animal hospital in 2021, a milestone that allows me to provide the highest standard of care to every patient who comes through our doors.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from two important influences in my life. My mom, a high school teacher and longtime volunteer in the pet community, always encouraged my passion for animals—she even brought animals into our home to care for and gave me my first snake. Her unwavering support laid the foundation for my career. Later, Michael Patronto, who gave me an opportunity in his office despite my lack of experience, taught me the value of mentorship and believing in one’s potential. Both shaped my path and inspired me to pursue my career with dedication and passion.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: if you want it, go for it! Pursue your education, seek out opportunities, and don’t be afraid to take bold steps toward your goals. Confidence, curiosity, and persistence are key—your passion can open doors you never imagined.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are compassion, dedication, and integrity. I strive to provide the highest level of care for every animal I treat while maintaining honesty and empathy in all my interactions. One of the moments I’m most proud of is purchasing Sebastian Animal and Bird Hospital in 2021, which has allowed me to create a space that reflects these values and serves my community with care and commitment.
