Arielle previously earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification in high school, served as Senior Class President, acted as secretary of the Women in Business Club, and served as a senator on the Associated Students of the University of Idaho. She has received the Human Resources Association Scholarship from HRETV, appeared on the Dean's List, and earned various high school scholarships. Arielle attributes her success to never taking no for an answer, a trait her mother encouraged from a young age, and she values integrity, consistency, and grit in both her professional and personal life.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Arielle
01What do you attribute your success to?
My mom told me from a young age I never took no for an answer. When people said I had too much on my plate for Panhellenic president or that many had applied for the internship, I pushed forward anyway. That desire to not take no for an answer has given me the strength to continue to push forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to put yourself out there more and get uncomfortable. So many of my opportunities came from talking to more people and putting myself in situations that were uncomfortable. If you're not uncomfortable, then you're not growing.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get involved. Put yourself in situations that make you uncomfortable. Go to a club where you know nobody if it gets you meeting people you want to be like. Join a book club at work. There's a lot of power in community, and that starts with meeting the community and finding any way to have an impact on whatever you're a part of.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Being a woman in any field is difficult. It's really easy as a woman to feel like you're not as respected or that people are walking all over you more. Use that feeling to drive you forward by reminding yourself you are powerful and strong. Faking it until you make it is the best way to move through that challenge.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, consistency, and grit are most important. Being a good leader and team player means having integrity so your team trusts your work and knows you'll be honest. Consistency makes a difference in group dynamics and work produced. Having grit and drive gets you through tough times when you don't want to move forward and helps you reach the next level.
