Her Story

About Arielle

Arielle Torbeck is a wealth management professional with nearly a decade of experience helping individuals and families build financial confidence. She began her career at Fidelity Investments, where she spent more than eight years developing her skills in financial planning, investment strategy, and client relationship management before joining Formidable Asset Management LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio. A graduate of Miami University with a background in finance, Torbeck has built her practice around comprehensive strategies that adapt to clients' evolving life circumstances, from retirement and family planning to major life transitions.

A significant focus of Torbeck's work is supporting women through pivotal financial moments. To deepen her ability to serve this community, she pursued specialized training as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, equipping her to help clients navigate the financial complexities of divorce with clarity and compassion. She extends this commitment beyond her individual client work through community partnerships, financial wellness checkups, and educational workshops aimed at helping women build financial literacy and confidence. Having spent much of her career in a field where women remain underrepresented, she views that dynamic not as a barrier but as motivation to bring a fresh voice to the profession and to encourage other women to follow a similar path.

Torbeck's approach to advising is rooted in relationship-building, active listening, and a genuine investment in understanding each client's broader life story. She sees financial planning as a long-term partnership rather than a series of transactions, and she prioritizes ongoing professional development to keep pace with a constantly shifting financial landscape. Outside the office, she stays active through tennis and golf, activities she views as extensions of the same values that guide her career — discipline, connection, and continual growth. Looking ahead, Torbeck remains focused on expanding financial education and access, particularly for women, while continuing to guide her clients toward lasting financial security.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Arielle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I credit my success to the relationships I build with my clients — relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and transparency. I've also benefited from working in an industry where women are still underrepresented; rather than seeing that as a disadvantage, I've treated it as a chance to bring a different perspective to the table. Beyond technical knowledge and certifications, I believe what really sets an advisor apart is the discipline to keep learning, stay current on industry changes, and consistently go the extra mile for the people I serve.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received was to begin my career at Fidelity and stay there for at least five years. That time gave me the exposure, hands-on experience, and structured training I wouldn't have gotten had I started at the firm where I work today. I was also told to smile and nod when needed, but never at the expense of asserting my expertise — to always make clear that I am the subject matter expert in the room.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

This industry can be tough to break into, and it's still very male-dominated, but I'd tell young women to stick with it. If you can push through the early challenges, you're often more capable than your male counterparts — and in the end, you may well outperform them. Above all, remember that being a woman is not a limitation; you're capable of anything you set your mind to.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The financial services industry remains male-dominated, but I'm encouraged by the growing number of women entering the field — that's one of the biggest opportunities I see. Over the next decade, roughly half of all financial advisors are expected to retire, many of whom haven't been offering full financial planning, estate planning, or tax-efficiency strategies. That creates real room for a new generation of advisors to step in and do more for clients. The challenge, for me personally, is that as a woman who appears young, I sometimes have to work harder to demonstrate my value to clients right away.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Trust, empathy, and transparency are at the core of everything I do. I believe strong advisor-client relationships go beyond the numbers — they're built by genuinely listening to each client's story and understanding their family, career, and long-term goals. I also hold myself to a standard of continuous growth, staying informed and committed to serving others with compassion, both in my professional life and in how I try to show up for my community.
