About Arlett
Arlett Watters serves as a Risk Management Lead at Fannie Mae, a leading federal housing financial organization, where she collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess enterprise risk, strengthen governance practices, and support the stability and integrity of the housing financial system. With over 15 years in the field, her expertise centers on compliance, anti-money laundering, fraud, and risk management frameworks. Originally from Belize, Watters earned her associate and bachelor's degrees from the University of Belize after winning the Ms. Belmopan 95-96 scholarship pageant, and she later obtained her MS in Economic Crime Management from Utica College with a focus on anti-money laundering, fraud, and risk management. Her interest in legal and regulatory compliance stems from her disciplined upbringing by a father who was a police officer. Outside her professional role, Watters is an advocate for the deaf community, having taught sign language classes on Saturdays for at least one year in Belize to raise awareness and improve communication for families with deaf children, inspired by her own deaf brother.
