Her Interview

Ten minutes with Arpita

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience and learning from disappointment rather than viewing it as a reflection of my abilities. In recruiting, where rejection and uncertainty are daily realities like candidates declining offers or hiring plans changing, I've learned that resilience isn't about avoiding disappointment but learning from it, growing through it, and continuing forward.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always make time to enjoy the success and celebrate it, because we often get carried away by the rush and metrics in our work. It's important to pause and enjoy the success you've achieved so far.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't wait until you feel completely ready. Growth often happens because you take the opportunity first and then develop into it. Advocate for yourself, talk about your accomplishments, ask for opportunities, and communicate the value you bring.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is navigating AI tools that are evolving rapidly; it's confusing for organizations, and we need to figure out what works best rather than chasing every tool. The opportunity is for those who are adaptable and open to learning new things without restricting themselves to old tools or processes.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Never giving up, always be perseverant, don't treat failures as setbacks, and be transparent and honest with yourself and with your partners, whether in personal life or work life.
