Her Story

About Arushi

I have an MBA from India with specialization in marketing and strategy, and after working there for a couple of years, I made a move to the US. I enrolled in a Master's in Business Analytics from California State University, East Bay. After graduating, I got a job in New Jersey at a fintech company that works in cross-border payments. I'm in a client-centric role where I'm responsible for client relationships and project management. It's a small company, so I get to wear different hats. My role is not very technical and not very generalized - I'm in the middle. I get the requirements from the business side and explain them to the technical teams. My main areas are payments and analytics. I'm responsible for maintaining top line and bottom line, handling all the social media activity on LinkedIn, and taking care of existing clients. I have my own set of accounts, mostly banks and corporates, and I'm their first point of contact and assigned account manager. I'm involved in different projects, including building learning and development material for my team and creating proper documentation so that new members who join have an easier learning experience. One of my most notable achievements was being actively part of the ISO standards migration project last year, helping banks and corporates make the mandatory shift by the November 2025 deadline. My objective is to create a niche for myself in the payments area, focusing on learning about different payment rails across the US and Europe, and specializing in product management, client relationships, and project management.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received so far has been to never say no for any opportunity. At the moment, it might be scary if something is unheard or it's the first time, but take it on, move forward, and the path will be figured out. You may not know everything at the beginning, but that is okay. Take a leap of faith, go forward, and things will ultimately work in that direction. You don't need to know everything at the start.
