Her Story
About Arya
Arya splits her time between school, research, and running a business. Her days often start with classes and club meetings, then a commute to her research site, and evenings spent at La Moo Creamery or on coursework. She completed a NASA Virginia Space Grant Consortium internship, including a residential summer academy at Wallops Flight Facility, and has competed nationally in coding through FBLA. Outside of research, she teaches coding to elementary students through Girls Who Code and Boolean Girls, and founded Social Justice Computing, a nonprofit that provides refurbished laptops to Liberian students.
