Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ashlee
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family who instilled in me to work hard, be determined, and never give up. I also give myself credit for not ever giving up, not rushing the process when I was confused about my career, and letting it fall how it was supposed to.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was from Chanel who told me to be unapologetically myself and helped me find my confidence and voice. She emphasized that in our field as a designer you may not please everyone but to feel confident that your work is valuable and has meaning.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say never give up. It can be intimidating at first and it's okay not to know what you want to do right off the bat. In the industry of college sports there are so many avenues to go down so don't get discouraged, sooner or later your passion will find you or you will find it, and have the confidence.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
College sports is a little competitive but I don't think that is ever going away so there will always be a need for professionals in the industry.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My family is a huge push, they have always pushed me to be the best so I really value their opinion and the values they instilled in me. Also confidence is key, especially if you're confident in who you are and what you bring to the table.
