About Ashley

Ashley Bonds is the Founder and CEO of International Institute of Aesthetic Arts & Beauty, a premier beauty college focused on advancing education in esthetics, skincare, lash artistry, manicuring, laser hair removal, and wellness-centered beauty training. Ashley has dedicated more than 20 years to the beauty industry, transforming her lifelong passion for beauty, self-care, and personal empowerment into a thriving educational platform. From a young age, she was drawn to the art of beauty, makeup, and transformation, ultimately turning that passion into a career devoted to helping others build successful and flexible lifestyles through the beauty industry. In 2015, she launched her spa business, and in 2021, she expanded her vision by opening her beauty school, where she now recruits, mentors, and trains aspiring beauty professionals to pursue meaningful and sustainable careers.

Ashley’s professional journey reflects both resilience and purpose. Although she briefly explored interior design, beauty remained her true calling. Initially, her dream was simply to own a makeup studio, and she obtained her instructor license as a backup plan. However, during a transitional period in 2011 and 2012, she found herself drawn into teaching and quickly discovered a deep passion for education and mentorship. Through her previous leadership roles as an educator and instructor at respected beauty institutions throughout Texas, Ashley developed expertise in aesthetics, skincare science, business development, and professional training. She is deeply committed to educating students beyond technical beauty skills by helping them understand the science of the skin, the body, and overall wellness. Her philosophy emphasizes that beauty is not superficial, but rather a reflection of self-care, confidence, and internal well-being. She believes that when individuals learn to properly care for themselves, they can truly transform their lives and positively impact others.

Under Ashley’s leadership, the International Institute of Aesthetic Arts & Beauty has become a respected institution that prepares students to earn state-recognized licenses in Texas through programs in aesthetics, nails, lasers, and dual licensure training. Her long-term vision is to expand the institution into a globally recognized platform that bridges opportunities between international students and the U.S. beauty industry. Ashley is passionate about creating pathways for individuals from around the world to pursue education, entrepreneurship, and career advancement in beauty and wellness. Through her dedication to mentorship, education, and innovation, she continues to inspire the next generation of beauty professionals while shaping an institution grounded in empowerment, professionalism, and holistic wellness.

Ten minutes with Ashley

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion for education, wellness, and empowering others to see the value in themselves and their potential. Opening my school has been one of my greatest accomplishments, especially knowing that I have helped graduate nearly 100 students through the program over the past five years. While many people only see the highlights of entrepreneurship, I understand firsthand the dedication, resilience, and perseverance it takes to build something meaningful. Interestingly, I never originally planned to open a school my goal was simply to own a makeup studio. However, after earning my instructor license as a backup plan and transitioning into teaching during a challenging period in the industry, I discovered a true passion for sharing my knowledge of skincare, the body, and overall wellness. I believe beauty is far more than surface level; it is about understanding how to care for yourself from within. I strive to teach my students that when we prioritize our own well-being, confidence, and self-care, we are better equipped to positively impact the lives of others.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to focus on building a long-term career with purpose and intention. Find a position where you can continue to grow, develop your skills, and contribute meaningfully to the organization. Early in your career, it is important to learn not only the technical side of the industry, but also how to network, collaborate as part of a team, and problem-solve when unexpected challenges arise. I also encourage women to identify and fully invest in their specialization, whether that is lashes, makeup artistry, facials, waxing, or another area of expertise. Embrace every experience the successes, the setbacks, and everything in between because those moments shape both your professional growth and personal development. Most importantly, create a clear vision for yourself with one-year, three-year, and five-year goals so you remain intentional about where you want your career to take you and the impact you hope to make along the way.
