About Ashley
Ashley Brown serves as a social worker for the Los Angeles Unified School District, supporting students across school sites with a current assignment to a middle and high school. Her path into the field began after earning a degree from Mills College and completing service with City Year Los Angeles. She subsequently obtained a degree in educational counseling from National University and later a Master's in Social Work from Dominguez Hills in 2017. Brown draws on her experiences in attendance counseling and private practice to teach students coping skills and emotional management tools that promote better behavior and interactions. She participates in the National Association of Social Workers California chapter, the Association of Black Social Workers at both the Los Angeles and national levels, the California School Social Workers Association, the School Social Workers of America Association, and the United Teachers of Los Angeles, where she contributes to steering committee efforts.
