What do you attribute your success to?
Everyone thinks that success happens with luck, the right idea at the right time. That may be a little true, but most of it is done through hard work. Just because you're the boss of your own company doesn't mean you can stop outreaching and putting in effort, especially in my line of work.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Fear and self-doubt will always be the number 1 thing standing in your way.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't feel like you have to go to college for writing, unless you need more knowledge about your niche. The best way to get into writing is to write.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Everyone thinks AI is going to take over writing jobs. That's not even a little true. AI writing should be seen as a tool and an opportunity. I use it to help brainstorm ideas. AI will never be able to make the human connection that makes writing possible because it's not human.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Balance really is everything. The weekdays need to be reserved for work, and weekends are for family and fun. Burnout is a huge issue, and the best way to prevent that is to always take the time you need for yourself. You can't give 100% if you're not at 100%
