Her Story

About Ashley

My career path has been quite a journey. Out of college, I was a coach for a company working with distance and endurance athletes, both amateur and professional. I then started doing nutrition work for the company before leaving to open my own Pilates studio. While running the studio, I obtained my doctorate in Naturopathy. Working with my clients at the Pilates studio, I realized I had sort of a sixth sense, recognizing deeper issues in people beyond what was physically evident. I pursued more bodywork certifications and opened a practice where I work to balance the stress response in the nervous system via the connective tissue. This is hands-on work, but with a very light, intuitive touch. Because I work with the connective tissue that's innervated with the nervous system, much of my work is not only physical but psychological as well, so that I can use my background and psychology degree to help counsel people and work through issues that the body holds, calming the stress response in the body. Every session is different. Sometimes we talk, sometimes it's quiet, sometimes clients fall asleep, sometimes they laugh, sometimes they tell me their deepest, darkest secrets. I never know because the nervous system is so complex. I've even held people crying for three hours before, just to help process. Time is irrelevant. It's all about healing and creating a better moment, day, week, or year for whoever I see.

01What do you attribute your success to?

A positive attitude always leads to success. Doing things that I love and avoiding work that doesn't suit my soul has also led me to where I am today. My most important professional achievement has been thriving as a successful female business owner for over 20 years. I've held my own for many, many years and helped people overcome so many things. It's not even just necessarily a professional checkmark, but the fact that I have the opportunity and privilege to help so many people, influencing their lives, is what makes me happy. If I can make someone smile and feel better one day, or every day, that's my goal. I'm not in this industry for financial gain. My purpose is to affect other women and band together, helping as many lives as we can. The goal is to create smiles and happy hearts. That's what makes life worth living.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received isn't necessarily career-oriented, but is considered a helpful tool in life, and it's actually from my husband. When we first met, he said to me, "If you're gonna dream, you might as well dream big!
