About Ashley
She is a dedicated urban planner and community engagement specialist with a strong foundation in transportation planning, equity-focused outreach, and data-driven decision-making. Currently serving as Planning & Transit Outreach Coordinator at JAF Creative Solutions, she supports community outreach and planning initiatives across Southern California, including outreach efforts in Orange County's Little Saigon district, translating qualitative community feedback into organized datasets and planning insights, and facilitating interactive learning sessions for high school students. Prior to this role, she served as New York Team Lead at ESG Real Estate Laboratory, where she reviewed zoning and land-use frameworks and developed a strategic plan to convert over 30 abandoned properties into affordable housing and third spaces. Her experience includes serving as Data and Research Consultant Fellow at Fractal Strategies, evaluating DEI tools for organizations including LA Metro, designing dynamic dashboards using Power BI, and conducting survey analysis for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. She also served as an Administrative Intern at LA Metro, where she conducted inspections of 90% of LA Metro stations and compiled a 300+ page station manual. She holds a Master of Science in Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Southern California, where she was a Progressive Degree student. She is recognized as a collaborative, analytical, and community-centered planner who bridges data storytelling and public engagement to build more equitable, sustainable, and connected communities.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Take every opportunity that comes your way, even small ones like internships or features, because it helps overcome imposter syndrome and builds confidence in your professional background and degrees.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have the confidence to know that the certifications and years you've put in are enough, trust that you've done the work, and make decisions confidently.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Timelines get pushed, projects get pulled or paused due to funding or other reasons out of control, which can be disheartening after putting in effort, though clients are accommodating.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Community input is key; make sure projects listen to residents' opinions, especially in underrepresented communities, and relay feedback so concerns are heard and projects succeed.
