Her Story

About Ashley

My career is built at the intersection of clinical expertise and healthcare innovation. I started in cardiology, working in the cardiac cath lab supporting interventional procedures in both the cath lab and interventional radiology. This experience has shaped how I navigate complex clinical environments and partner with providers.

Over the past 20+ years in healthcare and a decade in medical device, I’ve built a track record of driving adoption, influencing clinical decisions, and advancing solutions that meaningfully improve patient outcomes.

I’m now stepping into prenatal genetic diagnostics with BillionToOne, bringing forward uniquely differentiated single-molecule technology to deliver more precise, clinically actionable insights and expand impact in women’s health.

Ten minutes with Ashley

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would probably say it's the way that I grew up with a single mom and kind of just seeing the struggles, and always knowing that I never wanted to be that way. I wanted to always be educated and just work really hard, which I have done. The biggest driving force was obviously that, but also being with my husband at such a young age and us just always motivating each other. I've always wanted more than what I had when I was younger. I've always wanted to be able to give more than what I had to my kids and my family, and show them that they can do anything.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I think the best career advice I've ever received is to keep going and never give up. With everything, there's always challenges, and being in the medical device industry, you get a lot of no's before you get a yes. It's not taking that no and don't go back. You just keep finding different ways to make it happen, because it's all about providing the best care possible and educating on the advances of technology. For me, I've just never given up. I just keep going.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to definitely get that degree, especially bachelor's. Having a Bachelor's of Science is pretty good, or having a bachelor's in business administration, even having a master's, but I think the bachelor's in business or bachelor's of science is the key to it. And utilizing LinkedIn. Those two go hand in hand, because when you're trying to get into the industry, due to the various companies and specialties, going in and utilizing LinkedIn to reach out to people to learn has been the biggest help for me, because you can actually talk to the people that are doing it and get some advice as you start to build your career in the industry.
