About Ashley

Ashley Kruse brings more than 15 years of expertise in creative and marketing to her role at the Association for International Education Administrators (AIEA). In this position, she collaborates with higher-level strategic leaders in the international education field, marking her first foray into the higher education sector. Prior to AIEA, she gained experience at a creative agency, worked in-house for a credit union, and held positions at a publishing company, an architecture firm, and a wholesaler. 01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say, I mean, I do attribute a lot of it to how I was raised. My parents are instilled in myself and my sisters at a young age to, you know, be hardworking, to Be trustworthy, to be reliable, to Basically, you know, do unto others, and try your hardest, and And also to kind of surround yourself with others who do the same. And I would say that that has helped me Just be a better team player, and be a better you know, partner with everyone I've worked with, and also gain gain the trust of those that I've worked with.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say just be truly open to opportunities, you know, whether that's a new role in a different field, or a new type of role that you haven't done before, or even just opportunities on your daily basis in the position that you currently have. Right. Just being open to learning, as much as you can, and all the different facets that, you know. That the creative and marketing, industry has. And as a as a professional in it, I think just Just being open to all those opportunities, not, not not pigeonholing you, yourself.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Something I really value is integrity. I would say just alignment of of intentions, of actions, of words, You know, it kind of ties back to the trust factor. I think it's You can't really move through this world. Successfully, if you don't Have that, if you don't share that with others, and if, I don't see that in you. I think that's to really Big part of, of just Of just kind of moving and succeeding in this world. work ethic I would say communication. I know that's something. It just touches every everything, every aspect. And, I think that we can always, myself included, all of us just always work to be better communicators and, you know, both in And how we speak, and what we say to others, but also how we listen.
