Her Story

About Ashley

After 18 years in nursing, I made a complete career change when I became a mom. I was applying for jobs in a coffee shop when the owner approached me and asked if I was in sales because he liked how I handled myself and spoke on the phone. I took a risk, and he gave me a chance with Advanced Water and Ice starting in September of last year. If someone had told me I'd be great in sales, I would have said they were insane. But they believed in me, held my hand along the way, and set me off free. I've been the top producer for the last year compared to people who have been in the business for a long time. I specialize in reverse osmosis, water filtration, and ice, doing a lot of industrial parks, blue collar work, and custom builds, taking care of everyone that needs it in Florida. I moved up to regional manager and now oversee five different counties and territories while building a team. They saw something in me I never saw in myself. I'm super proud of learning this field and completely conquering it. I doubted myself a lot, but I dominated a field I had no knowledge of and continued my success.

Ten minutes with Ashley

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my drive and my determination to be successful. Having a new challenge in front of me, I didn't want to fail at it. And my daughter - I'm a single mom, so she's a huge part of what drives me every day.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to her that if she has an idea of where she wants to be, to set that goal and to chase it, no matter what. There's not anything that a woman cannot do. If you think you can't do it and you're not capable, you don't know it until you're in it and you're able to do it, because you're capable of doing anything. So if it's a million dollars you want to make that year, you're capable of making it that year.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I'm more of a B2B field, and basically I source all of my business myself. It's a performance-based job. So definitely getting the exposure and building the pipeline of relationships and doing it on your own, being self-motivated, and continuing throughout your day, not allowing the day to run you - you run your day. That was a huge challenge that I had to learn, and I'm still learning. It takes every day of learning and every day of still being motivated to do it. That was definitely my biggest challenge.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Loyalty and honesty are most important to me. Building integrity in business-to-business relationships and continuing that outsourcing from that foundation is critical to how I work.
