What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to determination, resilience, and a solution-oriented mindset. In HR, standing firm and advocating for the right approach is essential, even when faced with pushback. I stay motivated by challenges, persist through setbacks, and focus on finding solutions to achieve meaningful results.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received came through mentorship and hands-on coaching from Melissa, an assistant plant manager and HR leader. She gave me meaningful responsibilities while providing ongoing guidance, which taught me the importance of taking ownership, learning by doing, and seeking mentors who challenge and support your growth.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stand strong and be confident. Advocate for yourself first—understanding your own worth is essential to effectively advocate for others. Continuously educate yourself, stay curious, and commit to lifelong learning so you are prepared to make informed decisions and stand firmly for what you believe is right.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in HR today is the lack of female leadership in many organizations, which requires women to be especially assertive and confident. Additionally, HR work can be emotionally demanding, as supporting employees through mental health crises, loss, or personal challenges is a regular part of the role.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are maintaining my core beliefs and standards, acting with integrity, and leading with empathy. I believe it’s essential to connect with others on a human level, to understand their experiences, and to approach both work and life with compassion and respect.
