Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ashley
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to leading with compassion and genuinely caring for my teammates and caregivers. I believe in staying hands-on, being present in their day-to-day experiences, and providing consistent support whenever they need me. For me, leadership means showing up, staying involved, and making sure my team knows they can always count on me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received from a mentor was to always keep an open mind, remain open to new perspectives and opportunities, and never close myself off to change. No matter what challenges arise in the world, I believe in facing them with resilience, staying adaptable, and continuing to move forward.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to always dream big and never limit themselves. There is always something more to learn, achieve, and strive for. Never stop dreaming, believing in yourself, or pursuing the opportunities that can help you grow.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is financial stability, as many employees struggle to live paycheck to paycheck. It can be difficult to see team members facing these hardships while being limited in how much financial support I can provide. At the same time, I see an opportunity to encourage employees to pursue advanced certifications and degrees, which can help them qualify for higher positions and increased pay.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and compassion are the values I prioritize most in my work and personal life. I believe in keeping my word, following through on commitments, and being someone others can depend on. In healthcare, compassion is equally essential, as patients and their families often face stressful and vulnerable moments. As a leader, I strive to foster a caring environment where my team understands the importance of providing stability, support, and empathy to every patient, even when they are complete strangers.
