Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ashley

01What do you attribute your success to?

God and Jesus Christ, and my perseverance to really get to where I want to get to.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received was from my SVP at Universal Music Group: you cannot be a broke creative. We can't survive as a broke creative.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Always stay ahead of the times. Always learn from the new generation. Leave what doesn't work anymore and adapt to the change in environment.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The economy and the political stance with Hispanics and ICE on immigration has taken a massive toll. Personally, learning how to handle becoming emotionally intelligent is key to everything.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Keeping your word - if you're gonna say you're gonna do something, do it even if you don't do it right, just give it your best shot. Discipline - whether you feel like doing it or not, just do it. Organization.
