Her Story

About Ashley

Ashley Price is a multifamily real estate professional with approximately 20 years of industry experience and a career spanning property management, account management, construction, and interior renovations. She currently serves as a Construction Manager – Interior Renovations at TruAmerica Multifamily, where she applies her extensive operational and property-management background to renovation and construction initiatives. Her career reflects a steady progression through increasingly complex responsibilities, beginning with her entry into the industry as a groundskeeper and advancing through leasing, property management, account executive, and account management roles. Price spent 13 years working in property management before transitioning toward the renovation and construction side of multifamily real estate. Her experience has given her a broad understanding of property operations and the practical considerations involved in managing multifamily assets. She previously spent nearly six years with Standard Interiors of Colorado as an Account Manager after serving as an Account Executive with Restoration Management Company. Her professional accomplishments have been recognized through honors including the Consistency of Standards Award – Western Division and the 2014 Q1 Employee of the Quarter – Western Division, the latter of which she received after being nominated by her staff and endorsed by corporate management. Determination, resilience, and a commitment to continued growth have been central to Price's career. As a young single mother entering the industry, she developed the drive to build a successful career while supporting her family, and she credits both challenging experiences and supportive mentors with shaping her professional journey. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Price is actively involved in charitable and community initiatives. She has volunteered with the Buddy Center of the Denver Dumb Friends League, participated in TruAmerica's service activities supporting foster youth through Foster Love, and is training for the LA Marathon while fundraising for Chrysalis, an organization focused on helping people overcome employment barriers and build pathways toward stability and opportunity.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ashley

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to determination, resilience, and the drive I developed very early in my career. I started working in the multifamily industry as an 18-year-old single mother who needed to support her child. I began as a groundskeeper, progressed into leasing, spent 13 years as a property manager, and continued taking opportunities that ultimately led me into renovation and construction management.

One experience that particularly shaped my determination was having a former property manager tell me that I would fail. Instead of allowing that comment to define me, I used it as motivation to prove that I could succeed. That determination has stayed with me throughout my career.

I am also grateful for the mentors who have supported and guided me along the way, including Jessica Douglas, Jenny Jorgensen, and Airy Salgado. Their guidance, combined with my own willingness to work hard, learn, and continue moving forward, has played a significant role in my professional growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to make a seat at the table. Nobody gets to tell me that I am going to fail. I am the only person who can make that decision for myself. That mindset has stayed with me throughout my career. There have been people who doubted me, but rather than allowing those opinions to limit me, I have used them as motivation to keep learning, working hard, and proving to myself what I am capable of achieving. I have also benefited tremendously from mentors who have provided guidance and support throughout my career. Their encouragement has reminded me of the importance of surrounding myself with people who challenge me, believe in me, and help me continue growing.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering the multifamily real estate industry to remember that they can build a successful career through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to keep learning. You do not necessarily have to go to college to build a career that you genuinely love. My own career is an example of how experience, determination, and taking advantage of opportunities can create a path to success. I want other young women to know that there are many ways to reach your goals, and your determination and commitment can take you a long way.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Being in my current role for about a year has been an exciting opportunity to continue learning and growing on the asset-management and renovation side of the multifamily industry. I am passionate about my responsibilities as an asset manager's second set of eyes, including reviewing renovation requests, working with vendors, and conducting monthly quality-control punch walks. This role has given me the opportunity to build on my previous experience while developing a deeper understanding of renovation oversight and asset management.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

One of the things that is most important to me is being able to share my story and inspire other young women. I worked my way up in my career without a college degree, and I am proud to be in a successful role doing work that I genuinely love. I am very passionate about what I do and take a lot of pride in my responsibilities, from reviewing renovation requests and working with vendors to conducting monthly quality-control punch walks. Outside of work, family is extremely important to me. I have so much love to give, and I pour it into my family, animals, and houseplants. Giving back is another important part of my life. I am currently training for the 2027 LA Marathon and fundraising for the Chrysalis Foundation, which is an organization that TruAmerica partners with. Being able to combine my professional journey, family, passions, and charitable work is something that is very meaningful to me.
