Her Story

About Ashley

I started my career in culinary arts, juggling the idea of starting my own home bakery. I had to make a decision about whether to go back to school for culinary and finish that degree, or pivot in another direction. I had an inner monologue moment and went back to my childhood self to see what that part of me wanted to do, and that's what led me to where I am now in hypnotherapy. My main area of expertise is nervous system regulation, which I specialize in because that's what ultimately brought me to this path through my healing journey. I wanted to bring this to communities like the one I came from, the less fortunate, people dealing with trauma, people of ethnic groups. I teach nervous system regulation to help people see that trauma isn't the only way to live life. A typical day for me is like any other entrepreneur, taking emails, working with clients and people, handling paperwork. But I make it a priority to do lots of energy hygiene, cleansing, and just being centered within myself, confident, and able to pass the best message I can to my clients. With two children, I do a lot of lists, a lot of scheduling, constantly organizing everything over and over again. From my family history, being a successful person is my most notable achievement. I'm the first person who will graduate and be in the mental health field, or be in a professional field that's not construction or working at a steel mill. Making it out of middle class and breaking free from the stigma or the projection of what people or ourselves put us in is a big accomplishment for me.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to stick with my authenticity and not try to force anything or be someone I'm not, or even try to impress anybody, because that's the wrong message most of the time. People feel your presence and your authenticity. I've learned to just drop all the scattered thoughts and just be who I am, and that's helped me in the long run more than anything. When I'm trying to put on a front, trying to remember a script or remember a slideshow or something, it somehow always goes sideways or haywire. But once I clear the energy and just let it flow and just be who I am, that's what works the best.
