Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ashley
01What do you attribute your success to?
First and foremost, I attribute my success to my personal relationship with God. Without my Lord and Savior, I would not be where I am today. The drive and determination that I have to keep fighting and pressing begin there. Coming from a long line of strong men and women, I have witnessed what it looks like to persevere despite the obstacles and barriers. Being raised by a teenage mother showed me that anything is possible if you stick with it and don't give up on yourself or God.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was not to limit myself. To believe that I can do whatever I put my mind to. The next best piece of advice was to find the balance and do what I love doing so that it flows naturally and abundantly.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take care of yourself and do not neglect self-care. Develop a personal self-care regimen through trial and error because what works for others may not work for you. Create a wellness plan that identifies your burnout signs so you recognize when you are heading toward burnout. Self-care is a daily routine involving self-compassion, self-love, and self-kindness, not just occasional activities. It is essential to recharge yourself to continue pouring into others without causing harm.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The possibilities are endless. People really need help mentally. Without stability of mind, one may operate only in survival mode and settle for dysfunction as the norm.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, family, and peace.
