About Ashley
Ashley Walker serves as a Senior Business Analyst in the Merchandising Ops Department at The Home Depot. She joined the company four years ago after starting in a part-time store role and has advanced to the corporate office, earning a promotion to her current position six months ago. Holding a degree in merchandising, Walker previously operated her own real estate business as a realtor for five years and worked for three years in the tech sector before transitioning to retail. In her role, she coaches and mentors more than 105 merchandise planners responsible for product distribution to over 2,000 stores nationwide, overseeing their onboarding, training, and ongoing development as a servant leader. One of her notable achievements includes onboarding More Crunch, a pretzel business founded to support an individual with high-functioning autism, as the company's first big-box retailer. Walker is currently pursuing her PMP certification in project management.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay curious. You have to stay wanting, stay hungry, stay learning, and you have to stay adaptable.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There is a really big push in all industries with AI. I think it's best to look at it as an opportunity to lean into it and to see how best it can help shape your current position and really help you mold what your career looks like.
