Ashley Marshall
Ashley Marshall, MA, RT(R)(ARRT), is a dedicated and adventurous radiologic technologist with over a decade of experience in the healthcare industry. Known for her versatility and expertise, she has worked across various healthcare settings, from children’s hospitals to mobile imaging and specialized procedures like extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). Ashley currently serves at HealthTronics, Inc., where she brings both technical precision and patient-centered care to her role.

Beyond the clinical environment, Ashley has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and education. She holds a master's degree in Educational Psychology from Ball State University and advanced certification in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University Bloomington. Her passion for professional development and advocacy is reflected in her years of service with the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists, where she has held multiple leadership roles including President and Chairman of the Board.

Ashley also blazed a trail and raised the bar for the next generation of imaging professionals by creating the Indiana Psi Chapter of Lambda Nu, the national honor society for radiologic and imaging sciences. With a career defined by both technical excellence and educational impact, Ashley continues to shape the future of radiologic technology through service, scholarship, and innovation.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to open mindedness and bravery. My career has evolved greatly over the years. Learning to pivot with power is a skill; and I have found greater strength and happiness in these endeavors.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Patience and perseverance entering a new field are critical. Learning the language, culture, and customs of any industry takes time and many growing pains. Lean into your newness, ask as many questions as possible, forgive yourself mistakes, and persevere one day at a time.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The field of medical imaging is growing and changing rapidly. New technologies are being developed and new certifications are on the horizon. Hybridization imaging is the future. There will always be a need for a skilled technologist to leverage the technology available while holding the hands and hearts of patients.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My most important values are humility and compassion. Making a human connection and being able to humanize our own stories is part of living an authentic and deeply connected life.
