Asia Alexander is an emerging scholar and marketing professional passionate about the intersection of data, creativity, and human behavior. As an Adjunct Marketing Professor at Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, she brings energy and innovation to the classroom, transforming theory into hands-on experience. Her courses mirror real-world marketing agencies—students engage with live case studies, industry guest speakers, and analytics-driven projects that prepare them for today’s competitive business landscape. Currently pursuing her PhD in Marketing (expected Spring 2028), Asia’s research dives deep into consumer psychology, exploring how scarcity messaging can influence decision-making and brand perception.

Before transitioning into academia, Asia sharpened her marketing and research expertise with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and The Walt Disney Studios. In these roles, she managed survey design, data analysis, and content strategy—helping brands connect authentically with diverse audiences while improving campaign performance and operational efficiency. With a strong foundation in analytics tools like Tableau, SPSS, and Google Analytics, she excels at transforming complex data into meaningful consumer insights that drive strategy and impact.

A lifelong learner and creative thinker, Asia is deeply motivated by the power of marketing to tell stories that matter. Whether mentoring students, conducting research, or designing campaigns, she strives to bridge the gap between data and empathy—ensuring that behind every number, the human story shines through.

I attribute my success to my drive to reach my goals, my constant desire to improve, and my determination to break generational curses through self-motivation and perseverance.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to just do it—take risks, embrace challenges and opportunities, and always make the effort to network and connect with others.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t be intimidated—you have incredible value, and as a woman, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Always continue learning and make education a top priority.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I face is that some people underestimate my experience or don’t show the same level of respect because of my age.

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are education, community, humility, honesty, respect, and family.
