Her Interview
Ten minutes with Aspen
01What do you attribute your success to?
Honestly, my family - my mom and my dad are my biggest supporters and having them support me and have my back when I'm having a hard day or I want to go home has been everything. Being from Idaho and moving to Georgia was a big jump and a long way away from home, so having their support is why I've continued forward. My success is because they believed in me enough to let me go after my dreams, even if it wasn't the traditional route. Their support is why I am who I am today, and why I never give up even on those hard days. I love them so much.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to remember that even though there are a lot of people pursuing the same path, that should never stop you from going after it. Everyone brings something unique to the table, and your individuality is what will help you stand out. Stay true to who you are instead of trying to be someone else online. The most valuable thing you can offer is your authentic self. Be confident in what makes you different, trust your voice, and don't be afraid to show up as you are. The right opportunities will come when you remain genuine and consistent. Your uniqueness is your greatest strength.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is how competitive it has become. Social media, marketing, and the beauty industry continue to grow, creating many opportunities, but it also means more people are pursuing the same careers. At SCAD, many students are applying for the same internships, jobs, and opportunities, especially with well-known brands. The beauty industry is also highly saturated, so it's important to understand what makes you unique and what value you bring to a company. Standing out requires a strong portfolio, a polished resume, relevant experience, and a clear personal brand. While the job search process can feel overwhelming, I believe the growing demand for marketing and social media professionals creates exciting opportunities for those who are willing to put in the work and stay persistent.
