Her Story

About Audra

Audra Carrion is a seasoned insurance professional with over 26 years of experience spanning customer service, workers' compensation, brokerage, life insurance, and carrier-side operations. What began as an early lesson in work ethic and leadership — observing a female boss at her first job in a candy shop at age 15 — set the tone for a career built on resilience, authenticity, and continuous growth. She has navigated virtually every corner of the insurance landscape, holding roles at Farmers Insurance, PNC, and as an independent broker before joining First Connect Insurance Services in 2022. Today, she serves as Senior Account Manager, overseeing carrier and agency partnerships across the Northwest region within a dynamic insurance marketplace, a role she earned through dedication, strategic relationship-building, and a commitment to driving meaningful growth.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Audra is a passionate advocate for mental health and community empowerment. She is the host of the podcast formerly known as Dear Chiefs, now continuing under the Carry On Fire Family banner, a platform she has cultivated for over five years to support first responder families by addressing relationship dynamics, mental health, and the unique challenges that come with loving someone in emergency services. She is also the founder of Carry On Collective, a community empowerment initiative that provides free marketing support to small businesses in the Tri-Valley area and helps them grow their organic social media presence. Her volunteer work extends further through her service on the Contra Costa County FACT Committee, the City of San Ramon Housing Advisory Committee, the PFLAG San Ramon Valley Board, and years of dedicated involvement with the National PTA.

Audra's influence reaches beyond her professional and community roles, as she was selected to be featured in Influential Women magazine representing San Ramon, California for 2026 — a recognition that reflects both her professional impact and her commitment to uplifting others. A proud mother of four and wife to a first responder, she leads her life by the values of integrity, honesty, compassion, and trust, and credits her success to an unshakable belief in herself, the example she strives to set for her children, and the steadfast support of her husband. Guided by the philosophy that authenticity is the foundation of everything, Audra continues to break barriers in a male-dominated industry while inspiring the next generation of women to take their time, trust the process, and boldly embrace who they are.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Audra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to believing in myself and modeling that confidence for my children by showing up and doing my best every day. Taking initiative and working hard throughout my career has been essential, and I am deeply grateful for my husband's unwavering support — he has truly been my champion through it all.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have ever received is simply to be yourself — because everything else will fall into place. Authenticity is something I carry with me in every professional relationship and every room I walk into.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to take your time and resist the urge to rush. Stay focused, keep working hard, and above all, trust yourself. The path forward becomes clearer when you move with intention and confidence in your own abilities.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Insurance remains a male-dominated industry, and one of the ongoing challenges is feeling the need to constantly prove yourself rather than simply being who you are. That said, I believe the opportunities are tremendous for anyone willing to put their head down, stay focused, and keep moving forward — the doors are there, and they are open to everyone.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, honesty, compassion, and trust are the values that guide everything I do — both professionally and personally. These principles shape how I show up for my team, my clients, my family, and my community.
