Her Interview
Ten minutes with Audra
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being relentless and resilient, remaining committed to lifelong learning, and maintaining a genuine passion for serving others. Throughout my career, I have embraced opportunities to grow, adapt, and challenge myself, understanding that meaningful success requires both perseverance and a willingness to evolve. I have also learned the importance of having the courage to reinvent myself when circumstances call for change, allowing me to continue developing professionally while staying true to my purpose of making a positive difference in the lives of others.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to not wait until you have everything figured out before taking the next step. Start where you are, use the knowledge and resources you have, and trust yourself enough to move forward even when others may not yet see your vision. Give yourself permission to learn along the way, embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and remain open to reinventing yourself as your goals evolve. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who will both challenge and encourage you, because having a strong network of mentors, colleagues, and supporters can make a meaningful difference throughout your career.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is building trust within underserved communities, particularly among individuals who may have experienced negative interactions with financial institutions or professionals in the past. Financial terminology can often feel complicated or intimidating, and concerns about being misled, scammed, or losing hard-earned resources can create understandable hesitation. I believe this also represents an important opportunity to make financial education more accessible, transparent, and approachable. By taking the time to listen, explain concepts in clear language, answer questions honestly, and meet people where they are, I can help individuals feel more informed and confident about making financial decisions that support their long-term well-being.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are compassion, service, inclusion, and advocacy. I genuinely believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have meaningful conversations about their financial future, regardless of their income, background, or current financial circumstances. I am passionate about helping people understand that financial education is not reserved for those who already have wealth; it is an important resource for anyone seeking greater security and opportunity. I am especially committed to advocating for the well-being of marginalized and underserved communities and creating an environment where people feel respected, heard, and empowered to make informed financial decisions.
