Aummul Baneen Manasawala

Senior S&OP Planner, Infrastructure Capacity
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Fremont, CA 94538

Aummul Baneen Manasawala is an infrastructure strategy and operations professional specializing in large scale supply chain planning, artificial intelligence driven forecasting, and end to end infrastructure optimization. She currently serves at Amazon Web Services as a Senior S and OP Planner within the Infrastructure Capacity team, a role she has held since January 2026. In this capacity, she is responsible for capacity planning across the full spectrum of data center infrastructure components, including servers, racks, memory, storage, and networking equipment. Her work is structured around recurring planning cycles that continuously incorporate the latest demand signals to ensure supply alignment with rapidly evolving infrastructure requirements. She also leads strategy for the adoption and integration of Generative AI within supply planning at AWS, with a focus on improving forecasting accuracy, operational efficiency, and decision making at scale in a rapidly expanding infrastructure environment.
Prior to joining AWS, Aummul worked at Meta, where she contributed to global infrastructure capacity planning initiatives. Her responsibilities included architecting the plan of record for power allocation and resource deployment across worldwide data centers. She also developed data driven strategies for rack redeployment, supporting significant infrastructure optimization and cost efficiency improvements across the organization. Before Meta, she was at Cloudflare, where she owned demand and supply planning for compute, space, and power across more than 330 global data centers. In this role, she led S and OP processes, developed automated planning systems, and implemented machine learning based forecasting models that improved planning efficiency, reduced cycle times, and enhanced overall infrastructure visibility and responsiveness.
Earlier in her career, Aummul worked in the semiconductor industry at Maxim Integrated, now part of Analog Devices, where she focused on supply chain capacity planning, demand forecasting, and operational analytics. Across her professional experience, she has developed deep expertise in strategy, supply chain optimization, and infrastructure operations. A consistent theme in her work has been the ability to take a holistic end to end view of complex systems rather than operating within functional silos. She is strongly motivated by the broader impact of infrastructure at scale, particularly how modern cloud and artificial intelligence systems enable global access to knowledge and intelligence. This purpose continues to guide her commitment to building resilient, efficient, and intelligent infrastructure systems that expand access to information worldwide.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to never giving up and not stopping to do the work until it's done. It's about perseverance and pushing through challenges rather than quitting when things get difficult. I believe in completing what I start and maintaining that commitment no matter what obstacles come up along the way.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is that why we do things is the most important question that we should ask before venturing into any of our projects. Why is more important than what and how. Understanding the purpose and reason behind our work should come first, before we dive into the details of execution or methodology. This fundamental question of 'why' guides everything else we do.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say that there are a lot of outside noises that want us to feel small about ourselves. So I think women should make sure to compensate that by positive self-affirmations and never forgetting to believe in themselves, irrespective of what the world says. In short, believe in your brilliance. Don't let external voices diminish your confidence or make you doubt your abilities. Stay focused on your own worth and capabilities.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity in my field right now is that the infrastructure and data center market is exploding, and the demand is rising way more than the supply can catch up. The rate of explosion is unprecedented. This brings a lot of opportunity and responsibility to make sure that we scale it in a way which is efficient in the resources that we use, because we are answerable for these things. The GPUs, the memory, and other components are very scarce and very valuable commodities at the moment and will be for the next decade or so. Being rigorous and resource efficient is critical - I make sure that we are maximizing our capacity with the least possible cost and resources possible.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are personal humility and professional will. I believe in maintaining humility as a person while having the determination and drive to achieve professional goals. These two qualities working together staying grounded and modest while also being ambitious and committed to excellence are what guide me in everything I do.
