About Autumn

Autumn Logan serves as a case manager at Kenneth Nugent, a personal injury firm in Duluth, Georgia, where she has worked for more than four years. With nine and a half years of total experience in the field, she manages daily client communications, coordinates treatment, collects medical records, interacts with adjusters and doctors, and prepares case demands. Logan began her career after high school with roles at Taco Bell and as a personal assistant before entering the personal injury sector at a small boutique firm in Midtown Atlanta. There she advanced from receptionist to intake and eventually case manager. She credits her professional drive to her parents' direct encouragement and the contrasting paces of New York and Atlanta living. Logan values honesty above all in her work and advises focusing on oneself while staying committed to goals.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Autumn

01What do you attribute your success to?

My parents don't let up and they don't let me. It's always hard, straightforward, to the point. It's never any coddling, it's always like this is what you're doing, this is what you could be doing. It's never anything soft or sweet. It's always like push, push, push. So I think like my dad, my mom, being from like New York, and then all Atlanta, those two cities together, I think that also contributes to like where I am. Those being having those two under my belt being in those two major cities, I think that contributes to like my hustle, my grind, my parents. I think that's what it is.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Worry about yourself. Especially being in this field or any field where you're with so many different people. You're kind of just learning and you're with people 40 hours a week, you get to learn so much and see so much. At the end of the day the best thing that you can do is just worry about yourself.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't give up, keep going, because at the end of the day the bill's gotta get paid and then it doesn't matter what you're going through, what you have on your plate, what you might be feeling, the bills don't care. Your head, have food in your mouth. You know it's easier said than done I will say that but at the end of the day you just gotta keep pushing. You gotta have a strong mental, you can't let people get in your head, and I would always say make decisions without your feelings. If you wait 12 or however many hours and you still feel the same go for it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Keeping your eye on the prize because a lot of people like when I started here a lot of people are not. So I just say make sure you know that this is what you want to do and keep your eye on the prize and stay focused. Because I say I know the human attention span is not very long. You just have to stay focused. And it's easier said than done but if you stay focused do what you need to do study put in the work you'll get the reward.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty. I feel like honesty is the best route no matter what. It's not always the easiest route but I feel like honesty will take you very far.
