About Ayat
Ayat Ruby serves as the Executive Assistant to the President at the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Rockville, Maryland. In this role for the past year, she manages the president's calendar, travels, agenda, board meetings, and administrative tasks, while also coordinating with sponsors and preparing reports during the festival. With two decades of experience in her field, Ruby began her career at HSBC Egypt as an executive assistant in the legal department, where she studied law and became a licensed lawyer in Egypt. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Arts, majoring in English Literature, in Egypt in 2004, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Faculty of Law in Egypt in 2019. Now based in the United States, she is studying for the bar exam to obtain her US law license, with the goal of opening her own law firm. Ruby attributes her success to the strong support of her family, particularly her sister and husband, and values honesty and dedication in her work, believing that giving fully to one's efforts leads to reciprocal rewards. She advises young women entering the field to never stop believing in themselves and to persevere one step at a time, drawing from her own experiences overcoming challenges such as raising two children while studying.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My family has supported me a lot, especially my sister and my husband. They are the most mentors in life that I rely on.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never stop, no matter the circumstances. It's never too late for anything. Continue whatever you're believing in, even through obstacles like having two kids, depression, broken hand, pregnancy, and exams.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never stop, and always believe in yourself. You are gonna make it, one step at a time.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Biggest challenge is studying while being a mom of two. Opportunity is to complete the bar and open my own law firm office.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I'm a believer, so the main thing is to be honest. You have to be honest and give to work so that you can get back.
