Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ayushi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would attribute my success to multiple people who have given me opportunities to build up my career, because I believe it's not easy to get into the industry. I might have not been where I am if I did not have the support or the help and the positions which were given to me when I needed it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Keep on trying, and eventually everything will fall into place. It might not happen on an immediate basis, but eventually things will fall into place, so just don't stop and keep trying.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The investment management industry is tough for women. I would say just don't be frightened by the things that you hear in the industry. Just keep going and push yourself, because if you have it in you, you will make it through till the top. You don't need to be terrified by the things that you hear by the top management.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I'm trying to build my client book. It's tough for a person to just land onto a client without any experience. Getting the right client base is the key. It's easier to connect with younger people because the same mindset fit, but it's tough to find the right client with enough money who aligns with who are looking for investment advice.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity, consistency, transparency. Because financial markets are huge, competition is huge, everyone is fighting for the same client. If I'm authentic, truthful, and transparent with my clients, everything has worked out in my favor.
