What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of dedication, persistence, and a commitment to using my skills to make a meaningful impact. I’m most proud of my policy work, including advocating for Minnesota students and families on the junk fees bill, increasing the Student Life budget, and having the opportunity to speak with the governor—along with collaborating creatively, such as publishing poetry with a New York Times bestselling author.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor, Basil Ajuo, founder and President of South Africans United, who taught me the importance of supporting community job efforts and making resources accessible to those who need them most.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believe in yourself and always put your best foot forward, approaching every challenge with tact, professionalism, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are compassion, service, and giving back—both in my work and personal life. I strive to make a meaningful impact by helping others, building genuine connections, and learning from the experiences of those I serve.
