Her Interview

Ten minutes with Azalia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to continuous learning. Growing up in the Dominican Republic taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, while my professional journey reinforced the importance of building authentic relationships and leading with purpose. I believe success is not just about achieving goals it’s about staying true to your values and helping others rise along the way

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. A mentor once told me, ‘Don’t wait for the perfect conditions start where you are, use what you have, and learn as you go.’ That mindset has helped me stay adaptable, take calculated risks, and turn obstacles into stepping stones for success.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to own your voice and your value. Don’t wait for permission to lead step into opportunities with confidence, even when they feel uncomfortable. Build a strong network, seek mentors who challenge and support you, and never underestimate the power of continuous learning. Most importantly, remember that your unique perspective is your strength bring it to the table unapologetically.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The travel technology industry faces dual pressures: economic volatility, regulatory complexity, cybersecurity risks, and sustainability demands, while labor shortages strain operations. Yet, opportunities abound AI-driven personalization, contactless and mobile first solutions, blockchain for secure payments, and sustainable tech innovations are reshaping the future. Success will hinge on balancing innovation with compliance, personalization with privacy, and growth with environmental responsibility.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, empathy, and resilience are the values I hold most dear. In my work, integrity ensures I lead with transparency and fairness, empathy helps me build trust and meaningful relationships, and resilience allows me to navigate challenges with optimism and adaptability. In my personal life, these same values guide how I support my family, give back to my community, and stay grounded in purpose.
