Her Story
About Azin Radsan
Azin Radsan van Alebeek is a venture capitalist, coach, and entrepreneur who serves as Co-Founder and General Partner of Emmeline Ventures, a female-founded early-stage venture capital firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. She co-founded the firm to invest in technology-enabled startups that improve women's lives, with a particular focus on physical and mental health, financial empowerment, and long-term societal impact. Guided by the belief that capital can be a catalyst for meaningful change, she champions founders who are building innovative solutions for underserved markets while encouraging more women to become investors and business leaders.
Before entering venture capital, van Alebeek built her career as a board-level executive compensation consultant, advising companies on performance-based compensation for executives and directors. She later stepped away from her professional career for approximately 25 years to raise her three children, managing her family's operations while remaining active in philanthropy and community leadership. She successfully re-entered the investment world through angel investing before co-founding NLA Ventures and Emmeline Ventures. In addition to her investment work, she is a certified Co-Active coach, an associate producer, cast member, and ambassador for the documentary Show Her the Money, and continues to volunteer as a trustee at her children's former K–12 school.
Van Alebeek earned a Bachelor of Arts in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. She also completed coach training through the Co-Active Training Institute. Fluent in Farsi, Dutch, French, and Spanish, she brings a global perspective to her work with entrepreneurs and investors. She attributes her success to stubbornness, patience, and hard work, and encourages the next generation of women leaders to "don't ask for permission"—a philosophy that reflects her commitment to challenging limiting beliefs, embracing reinvention, and creating lasting positive impact.

Ten minutes with Azin Radsan
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence, patience, and consistent hard work. Meaningful achievements rarely happen overnight. While success may appear effortless from the outside, it is built on years of dedication, continuous learning, and resilience behind the scenes.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve received is to focus on building a strong foundation. The broader and stronger your knowledge, skills, and relationships, the more opportunities you create for long-term growth and success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believe in your abilities and don’t wait for permission to pursue opportunities. Speak up, take initiative, and trust your judgment. Confidence grows through action, and your perspective and contributions have real value.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value making a positive impact, acting with integrity, and listening with intention. At the end of each day, I want to know that I’ve contributed more good than harm and made a meaningful difference in the lives of others. My goal is to positively impact at least 1,000 lives, and I believe that genuine listening is one of the most powerful ways to achieve that.
