About Bahia
Bahia Yackzan is a coach, communication specialist, diversity consultant, and podcast host. She founded It's Your Voice, DEI LLC in 2022 and has hosted the podcast It's Your Voice since then, using it as a platform to showcase marginalized voices and create access for more people. Her diversity-related consulting work spans over 20 years, beginning in the domestic violence field where she learned to address violence constructively and developed communication methods to interrupt microaggressions while creating belonging. She studied philosophy in college and spent a summer studying international relations at the Lindner School of Economics due to her interest in power dynamics. Bahia holds a specialized certification with Coraline Coaching, founded by Kate Michaels who established the Emotional Wisdom Training Institute, after working with her for four years. She is a member of the U.S. Equestrian Federation and has written articles for Choice Magazine. Bahia works with individuals, small groups, nonprofits, church groups, and school groups, and she attributes her success to a supportive family origin with strong values along with key mentors and friends. She volunteers her time to the podcast and advises balance and the value of coaching for young people.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I think it really does come down to having a supportive family origin, our values are really strong, and despite everything we've been through, and all of our own internal disagreements. It's really important to make sure we're all doing okay. And I think that, I really feel the support of my siblings. And you know, key mentors and key friends who just that power of people believing you.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Honestly, I've been paying attention to The young young people... I think there's some I'm sort of seeing two extremes... the advice I'd given them was, like, balance. Like, no matter which dream you're in, just, like, think about the other side of yourself. And how to, like, relax them. But don't become self-indulgent... everybody needs a coach. I mean, that's why I love coaching. It energizes people, it gives people hope.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think what's interesting is that I have, I now believe because it's been validated many, many, many times. A really It's a really great set of skills that is really useful. To a lot of people. and I'm I think I stay so focused on organizing groups, or, like, working with, nonprofits, or church groups, or school groups, or that I don't I don't spend time what's a challenge to me is sort of getting bigger, like asking, like, I would really like to work with corporations and leaders who have even, you know, much greater influence than I do
