Barbara Bridgford is a senior learning and development executive with over 30 years of experience spanning education, corporate training, and enterprise transformation. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, she most recently served as Senior Director of Learning Development and Delivery at McKesson, where she led enterprise learning strategy for supply chain operations and customer experience. Her work focused on designing scalable, modern learning solutions that integrate virtual training, e-learning, instructor-led programs, and digital adoption tools to support workforce performance, compliance, onboarding, and leadership development.
Throughout her career, she has been recognized for building and leading high-impact learning organizations across major enterprises. She previously held leadership roles at companies including Southwest Airlines, Invitation Homes, Lucid Hearing, and Rent-A-Center, where she developed enterprise learning systems, implemented LMS platforms, and supported large-scale organizational change initiatives. At Southwest Airlines, she played a key role in advancing e-learning and learning technology innovation over a 13-year tenure, helping shape foundational digital training capabilities within the organization.
Bridgford’s professional focus centers on aligning learning strategy with business outcomes, particularly in complex operational environments such as contact centers and distribution networks. She is known for her expertise in learning management systems, workforce optimization, and instructional design grounded in established learning science frameworks. Now transitioning toward independent consulting through Tandem Partners, she continues to focus on AI-enabled learning transformation, helping organizations modernize training while maintaining strong governance, instructional integrity, and measurable impact.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for helping others and my strong commitment to addressing the needs within my community. This includes actively engaging in volunteer work, such as serving at a local senior center, where I have been able to contribute meaningfully and stay connected to those I serve.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my grandmother, who was an avid baker. She taught me to ensure I have the right “ingredients” in place before starting any endeavor, and to approach setbacks with resilience—if something doesn’t turn out as expected, simply learn from it and try again.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to never stop learning and to remain curious and adaptable throughout your career. It is important not to rest on your laurels, but instead to continue growing, developing your skills, and embracing new opportunities.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is securing leadership support and ensuring learning leaders have a permanent seat at the highest level of organizations to drive engagement and success.
