Barbara Hoover is a Delaware Claims Adjuster with AMERISAFE, Inc., where she manages workers' compensation claims across Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. With nearly seven years of experience in workers' compensation and claims management, she oversees claim investigations from initial intake through resolution, partnering with injured workers, employers, healthcare providers, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure timely, equitable outcomes and compliance with state workers' compensation laws. Recognized for her analytical approach, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills, Hoover is committed to delivering exceptional service while supporting both injured employees and employer clients.
Hoover's career reflects a unique blend of military service, education, public service, and insurance expertise. After relocating from Luxembourg, she served in the U.S. Air Force before spending seven years in the trucking industry. She later pursued higher education, earning an Associate's degree and a Bachelor of Arts in French with minors in Spanish and Secondary Education, along with an ESL endorsement. She began her professional career as an educator at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts before transitioning into government service as a legislative assistant, where she established a record for drafting the highest number of numbered sections within a legislative document. She subsequently joined the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission, where she developed a strong foundation in workers' compensation law and claims administration before advancing to her current role with AMERISAFE.
Throughout her career, Hoover has attributed her success to adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities that foster continuous growth. She believes that versatility and a commitment to lifelong learning have enabled her to excel across multiple industries and professional disciplines. Beyond her career, she dedicated 15 years to volunteering in her church's daycare ministry, demonstrating her longstanding commitment to serving others and giving back to her community. I attribute my success to adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to continuously seek opportunities for growth. While I consider myself fortunate to have had many positive experiences throughout my career, I believe success comes from being versatile, embracing challenges, and approaching every situation with a problem-solving mindset. Rather than settling when I felt I had reached my potential, I consistently pursued opportunities that allowed me to learn, grow, and make a greater impact.
