Her Interview

Ten minutes with Barbara

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to discipline and the ability to listen. I learned the importance of discipline at an early age, and a high school guidance counselor taught me to listen not only with my ears, but also with my eyes, heart, and mind. My experiences working around the military and the Department of Defense further reinforced these values, teaching me the importance of attentiveness, awareness, and understanding in both my personal and professional life.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to pursue their passions with confidence and determination. If you are passionate about something, go for it and do not allow anyone to discourage you or stand in your way. Set the tone for your day, take ownership of your mindset and choices, and trust in your faith and in God to guide you along the way.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith in God and a commitment to helping others. I especially value the opportunity to support and care for elderly individuals, as serving others and making a positive difference in their lives brings me a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment.
