Barbara Schwedel is a seasoned medical communicator with a distinguished career spanning several decades. She holds a Master’s degree in Technical Writing from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Delaware. Throughout her career, Barbara specialized in creating and editing a wide range of scientific and medical content tailored for healthcare professionals, business audiences, and the general public. Her expertise in medical communications, publication planning, and technical writing has made her a respected figure in the industry.

Barbara served as Senior Medical Editor at MedVal/PharmaWrite for ten years, where she led editorial projects and ensured scientific accuracy across diverse deliverables. Prior to that, she held roles as Senior Medical Writer at Maxcess Managed Markets and Principal Preclinical Writer at J & J, contributing significantly to preclinical and managed market communications. Her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to clear, accurate medical writing has earned her recognition from colleagues and clients alike.

Outside of her professional career, Barbara is an avid supporter of the arts and a dedicated mother of two adult children. She enjoys studying art, taking oil painting courses, and exploring creative expression through drawing and painting. She is also committed to giving back, donating to medical associations and political causes she believes in. Now retired, Barbara continues to pursue her passions for art and community engagement while staying connected to the medical communications field.
