About Barbara
Barbara Washington serves as a consultant in event management, public relations, and community engagement for corporate and nonprofit organizations based in St. Louis, Missouri. With nearly 40 years of experience, she has worked with every major corporate leader in the area and produced award-winning programs supporting youth and community initiatives. She holds a Certified Special Events Certificate from the International Special Events Society (ILEA), where she also served as president, and is a graduate of a public leadership program. Washington has lectured at Washington University and serves as an advisor for Maryville University. Her honors include being the first female Amateur Baseball Hall of Famer for Missouri, Nonprofit Executive of the Year Award from the St. Louis American, the Gertrude Rush Award as the first non-lawyer recipient, and BJC's Spirit of Women Award. She founded the Bobcat International Women's Career Mentoring and Scholarship Initiative, raised millions of dollars for scholarships and youth programs through events and her gospel music albums, and volunteered as caretaker for her former boss for six years. She is a member of the Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Private Industry Council.
